Nostalgic wedding

The moonlike purple dress fondled her firm but soft skin, driven by a light breeze of wind. A few of the last sunlights slightly brightened her figure. There she stood, gazing at the sea waves, while some seagulls produced arrhythmic beats. A narrow column of smoke rose into the sky, from her nearly finished cigar, held by a single hand.

'Finally, a moment of peace,' she thought. While she had been enjoying herself during the celebrations, the nonstop activity was taking a toll on her mind. Dozens of acquintances had been occupying tiny spaces of her time, wearing her off bit by bit. Small, almost invisible, wrinkles had begun forming in her forehead. Aging is never forgiving. Althought she looked stunning, even she believed it then, after people had complimented her countless times. Confidence issues were an old rival, in a neverending battle, but she had called for a truce that year. She clearly deserved it.

Bride´s relatives had reminded herself of her own. A nostalgic sensation spiraled through her back. Back again. Another memory of her deceased father. None of her distresses were caused by him, but she could not help but miss him. His guidance had carried her life across good paths. However, no tears seemed to emanate from her eyes. That was an improvement, makeup was expensive and tough to replicate.

Time was dragging slow, which she appreciated. A vacum of solitude, a welcomed one. Distant conversations could not alter her. Breathing fresh air, after so long residing in different urban city cores, felt incredible. It was a beautiful beach, extensive immaculate sand revealed a dark orange landscape. For a brief moment, she considered taking photography classes.

Another former enemy, boredom, began to cross her mind. But she was more than experienced, this foe was effortless to defeat. With a wide smile, an authentic smile, she prepared herself to return to the party, not before taking a last, long mental snapshot in her mind of the breathtaking scene. A life long memory tightly grasped to endure upcoming darker times.
